Chef required for Catering & Kitchen Team Leader role in Hertfordshire

      Our Client is looking for an enthusiastic Chef to join their team to fulfil the role of the Catering and Kitchen Team Leader.  Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will provide a high standard of catering services throughout the establishment, as part of the support services team.

      This is a hands on role – Duties will include:

      • Leading and supervising food preparation and ensuring high standards of food services.
      • Ensuring current health and hygiene regulations are adhered to in the preparation, storage and service of all foodstuffs.  Compliance with the Groups food hygiene policy ( including HACCP policy).
      • Supporting the Operations Manager in meeting departmental targets / KPIs. Continuously working towards improving departmental performance and standards.
      • Completion of all documentation and audits in line with and to support compliance with food legislation, catering procedures and business requirements. Completion of departmental risk assessments.
      • Coordination and rostering of all catering and kitchen staff to agreed budgets. Holding regular team meetings, completion of appraisals and frequent 1-2-1s with departmental staff.
      • Overseeing and coordinating meetings, functions, themed events and promotional evenings.
      • Follow agreed company guidelines on purchasing from nominated suppliers. Liaise regularly with internal and external customers.

      Essential attributes / qualifications

      • City and Guilds 706 – 1 and 2 or equivalent NVQ.
      • Current Levels 2 and 3 Food Hygiene Certificate for Catering.
      • Good written and verbal communication skills.
      • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required.
      • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the business.
      • Demonstrated Customer Service skills.
      • Basic computer skills.
      • Experience in a supervisory position as a Sous Chef or comparative position within a contract catering role.

      Desirable attributes / qualifications

      • Current Level 4 Food Hygiene Certificate.
      • Experience in a supervisory position as a Sous Chef or comparative position within a contract catering role.
      • This is a full-time position of 37.5 hours per week and will include weekend work on a rota basis. In return, we offer:
