      Our client in Hertfordshire is currently seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join a fast passed team, working 5 out of 7 days per week.

      Responsibilities include:

      • Assist the Head Chef in development of menus and products
      • Ensure profitability of the department by keeping costs and wages within budget
      • Develop junior members of the team
      • Maintain a high standard of food hygiene

      The ideal candidate will have:

      • Ability to work calmly under pressure
      • A passion for food
      • Previous catering experience at Chef de Partie level within a high volume property is an advantage but not essential
      • Basic Food Hygiene Qualification
      • Effective communication skills
      • Ability to deal with changing priorities and work demands
      • Ability to work using own initiative and pro-active approach
      • Good time management skills and excellent attention to detail
      • Enthusiasm and motivation but with the ability to work calmly under pressure
